School nurses play a vital role in helping Autistic students feel safe, understood, and supported through the school day. From routine office visits to managing chronic health conditions, medications, injuries, or unexpected medical situations, healthcare interactions can be especially overwhelming for Autistic students, particularly those who are non-speaking or have sensory sensitivities.
This practical, virtual training will provide school nurses with a deeper understanding of Autism and explore strategies to reduce anxiety, support communication, and create more positive healthcare experiences within the school setting. Participants will leave with simple, meaningful accommodations they can immediately implement to better support Autistic students- as well as many other students with communication differences, sensory sensitivities, or healthcare anxiety.
Tickets includes a healthcare communication board and sensory kit. Ticket sales end Monday, September 14th.
